Room 804

Paroles de « Room 804 »

City rain on the window... , AC drones like a choir,
Two hotel slippers, the hiss on the line climbs higher.

Paper walls, late calls, time-zone math in the dead of night,
Chopsticks drumming on the desk till you pick up again.
Corded handset hums in place, a tone I can’t ignore
You whisper down the line; I load the hook and aim for more.

I write your name in window steam , jusqu’à mon cœur;
Distance means nothing , je reviens, mon amour.

You miss me? I miss you more.
Slow-dancing with a pillow , encore.
Every ring, I pace the floor.
You miss me? I miss you more.
MISS, YOU MORE!

I count the bathroom spots, a galaxy of dots,
The TV loops five channels; I learn the exit plots.
I moonwalk in tighty-whities past glowing exit signs,
Make sudoku with the notepad, rate the room-service wines.
I ninja to the room-service cart, pockets clinking, pilfered shots,
My only guest is boredom checking in , yeah, I’m losing lots.

I hung the Do Not Disturb sign, my little flag of hope,
I’m booking every mile between us , hold tight, hold tight.

You miss me? I miss you more.
Slow-dancing with a pillow , encore.
Every ring, I pace the floor.
You miss me? I miss you more.
MISS YOU MORE!

ROOM EIGHT-O-FOUR , FLOOR SHAKES, HEART ROARS!
MINI-FRIDGE HUM, NOISE DROPS, HEART SOARS!
TIMEZONE BOSS FIGHT, ROLLING CRITS OF HOPE!
HOLD THE LINE TIGHT,.

I’ll trade these keycards for our home,
These blackout curtains for your dawn.
Say “come back, chéri”, and I’ll be gone
All the miles between us moving on.

You miss me? I miss you more.
Slow-dancing with a pillow encore.
When the lobby lights restore
You miss me? I miss you more.
HOME SOON SURE!

City rain turns soft and warm
You miss me? Je reviens à la maison..
