It's been rainin' for days, been rainin' for years,
A silent kinda storm that's been feedin' my fears,
Slippin' through my veins, drownin' out my ears,
Through my bones, under my skin, whisperin' in my tears.
Still stuck in this cave, leanin' on the stone,
Watchin' all the walls cry while I'm here alone,
Outside, the whole damn world looks gone,
No horizon left, no road to carry on.
Could've stood up, could've walked away,
But what's the point, man, anyway?
Ain't nothin' left for me to chase,
Every step I take just snuffs me out again.
Rain keeps pourin' all day
Through my bones, under my skin, in my brain
Tryna find my way
But every damn step takes me back where I broke away
Used to think that hopin' was enough to survive,
Reachin' for a star just to feel alive,
But every time I got close it'd slip and dive,
Like a wave on the rocks that just wouldn't arrive.
There I was, locked down, chained inside,
Yet there weren't no bars, nowhere to hide,
Just a heavy feelin' that refused to die,
Like a stain on a blue sky.
Rain keeps pourin' all day
Through my bones, under my skin, in my brain
Tryna find my way
But every damn step takes me back where I broke away
I shut my eyes, hear the whispers again,
They know my name and where I've been,
Singin' my mistakes like a worn-out hymn,
While their laughter rattles like chains in the wind.
Then one day through the mist I got to my feet,
Legs shakin' hard like they forgot the beat,
In front of me a walkway stretched through the grey,
Thin as a wire above a black abyss.
Water dripped from the stone,
Ran down my hands, my arms, my face alone,
Thought I saw a little light way out there,
The closer I got, the more it disappeared.
Rain keeps pourin' all day
Through my bones, under my skin, in my brain
Still tryna find a way
Even if the fog won't fade away
Rain keeps pourin' all day
Through my bones, under my skin, in my brain
Behind me the cave, ahead the great unknown
And me, like always, stuck between both roads
