Paroles de « Taking the Milky Way »

I was nursing a bowl of some generic-brand flakes
Watching "Max Adventure Hour" for the goodness it takes
While trying to adjust the settings on my favorite apparatus,
something suddenly seemed to be quite suss...

When my universal remote got ham-strung, slip of the thumb,
And plink! into the drink it went!
It hit the liquid like a crumb made of lead.
The milk was galvanized, the circuit board was pasteurized.
The cathode ray got hazy and my vision was digitized.
A sizzle and a pop and a fluorescent green glow...
I'm getting sucked into the static of the Saturday show.

Now I'm ink and I'm paint and I'm losing my weight,
Falling through the world at a 24 frame-per-second rate.
The resolution's rising but my depth is feeling thin.
I'm wearing white gloves and a permanent grin.

Hold on, Max!
I'm coming through the screen.
I'm a three-dimensional wanderer in a two-dimensional dream!

I landed in a dungeon where the Goons were in a huddle.
I pulled a master sword but it turned into a pool noodle.
So I went for the waistband...
A textile offensive!

A good strong yanking had 'em both just dangling.
Then I grabbed two guards and I gave 'em the CLANG!
Like a pair of brass cymbals with a metallic bang.
Dropped a peel on the floor and watched the villain do a slide
Through a brick wall...
Now there's a hole shaped like his pride.

Now I'm ink and I'm paint and I'm losing my weight,
Falling through the world at a 24 frame-per-second rate.
The resolution's rising but my depth is feeling thin.
I'm wearing white gloves and a permanent grin.

Hold on, Max!
I'm the hero of the scene.
I'm a three-dimensional wanderer in a two-dimensional dream!

There's no friction,
No gravity,
No real consequence
For my lack of a filter
Or my lack of common sense.

But the colors are too bright,
And the air is getting darker.
It smells like ozone
And a permanent marker.

I love this enchanted place...
And this really cool song...

But I think it's time for me to move along.

Checkity the books where this has been written,
Hear that hook and your brain stops tickin'.
A song about an ancient tradition,
Where I went on a mission,
To rescue my dude in distress.

Sir Max,
Is how I should address
A knight of the cartoon realm,
A braver soul cannot be at the helm.

I'm here to merely serve and be of help,
To brave Sir Max of the Kingdom of Welp.

I can bring myself back at your command.
All I have to do is dunk my remote on demand!

Now I'm ink and I'm paint and I'm losing my weight,
Falling through the world at a 24 frame-per-second rate.
The resolution's rising but my depth is feeling thin.
I'm wearing white gloves and a permanent grin.

Sorry, Sir Max...
But I really need to go back to my place.

I'm a three-dimensional character
In a two-dimensional space.

Having saved the day,
It was time to go home.

No longer in this celluloid kingdom
Would our hero Roy roam.

He bade farewell to his new best friend
As he stepped through the portal back.

He knew exactly what it would take
If Max ever needed him again.
